IU's nondenominational chapel, given by Frank O. Beck and his wife, Daisy, as a quiet space for meditation and prayer. Built of southern Indiana wood and Indiana limestone with a slate roof and copper spire; ground was broken in 1954 and it was dedicated in 1957. It keeps scriptures and symbols of several world faiths and hosts weddings, memorial services, organ recitals and meditation.
