A 3,200-seat theatre in the heart of campus, opened March 22, 1941: the first building completely planned and built under President Herman B Wells, of Indiana limestone. It hosts touring artists, entertainers and lecturers, and university ceremonies and orientation, and holds Thomas Hart Benton's "Century of Progress" murals, the Dailey Family Memorial Collection of Hoosier Art, two Robert Laurent sculptures and the IU Auditorium Organ. Renovated 1997–1999.
