An alternative to ENG-W 131, this freshman composition course offers a challenging sequence of projects in reading and writing. Topics and approaches vary by section; the focus, however, is on projects that encourage sustained inquiry into complex problems or significant issues. Credit given for only one of ENG-W 131, ENG-W 170, or ENG-W 171.
