The Bachelor of Science in Earth Science is designed for those who plan for professional employment or advanced study in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences.
The curriculum involves more allied science and fewer liberal arts requirements than the B.A. degree. The coursework for this degree involves field training as well as closely related allied science courses including chemistry, physics, and math. Many students decide to apply these credits toward a minor in these fields.
With flexible upper-level courses to choose from, students in this degree can learn almost anything about the minerals, energy, and environmental industries. Students who are interested in a particular field of study, have the opportunity to create a thematic focus by taking a series of classes in certain areas. These areas include Economic Geology, Biogeochemistry, Geobiology, and more!
