Epidemiology

The Bachelor of Science in Public Health Epidemiology will equip students with the knowledge to study the distribution and determinants of disease. The major also provides students with the opportunity to learn about public health intervention and prevention programs. The major requires significant knowledge in courses such as math, statistics, research methods, and science-based areas such as Anatomy. The major also provides for a "related content" track that includes most pre-professional course requirements as part of the courses that count toward the degree.

At the conclusion of their coursework, students complete an internship, which provides them with an opportunity to apply, within an actual work environment, their newly acquired skills and competencies. Students completing this degree will be well-positioned to begin employment as epidemiologists or to pursue an advanced degree.
