A Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (B.S.K.) Sport Marketing and Management major prepares students to learn the skills they will need in marketing, media relations, event planning/management, public relations, technology, and business organizational structures. The foundation of this major is comprised of both sports and business. Students will complete professional sports courses in law, marketing, management, psychology, and finance and a set of general business electives with the option to take some coursework through the Kelley School of Business. At least one internship or practicum experience for academic credit is also required.
The Sport Marketing and Management major is flexible allowing students to complete a wide range of electives around their passions. Because of this, many undergraduates choose to obtain a minor or certificate alongside the major. For example, commonly pursued minors include business, coaching, event planning, media advertising, psychology, and foreign language. Some students may even choose to continue their education in a law or sports administration graduate program.
