A Bachelor of Science in the Secondary Education Anchor Program (Mathematics Grades 5-12) prepares you for one Indiana teaching license that covers both junior high/middle school and high school.
Passionate and engaged mathematics educators do more than introduce their students to real and complex number systems. They help transform their students into critical observers and discover how the world works through a quantitative lens.
Mathematics is a subcategory of Secondary Education, which requires students to take courses that help develop instructional techniques in a variety of mathematics, ranging from linear algebra to computer programming. Required coursework includes calculus I - III, statistics, and geometry. These students will also receive a strong grounding in education theory, instructional methodologies, and content area coursework to aid them in creating a safe and expressive environment for their future students.
Please consult the Programs Sheets page via the Secondary Education tab on the School of Education website to find more information about this program, including additional admission requirements.
